What does it mean that the plan is a “discretionary” warranty and not an insurance policy?

Our Warranty Plan is a discretionary product, not an insurance policy, and the Financial Conduct Authority does not regulate it. That means all repair requests are assessed and authorised at our discretion, in line with the Warranty Plan Terms, limits and exclusions. We aim to act fairly, reasonably and consistently, but we are not obliged to approve every request and will not use discretion to overturn clear exclusions.

Are safety systems like airbags, seatbelts and ABS covered?

Yes. Factory-fitted safety systems such as airbags, seatbelts, pretensioners, safety restraint modules, crash sensors, and ABS/ESP systems are included as covered components, provided the failure is sudden, mechanical or electrical in nature, and not the result of an accident, collision, or external damage. Accident or impact damage itself is not covered and should be referred to your motor insurer.

Are aftermarket performance parts, remaps or non-standard suspension parts covered?

Our Warranty Plan covers only factory-fitted mechanical and electrical components. Vehicles that have been mechanically, electrically or structurally modified from the manufacturer’s original specification (including remaps, performance upgrades or non-standard suspension) are excluded from cover. Cosmetic changes that do not affect the way the vehicle operates will not usually affect eligibility.
